Mutual Fund Attorney, Investment Manager Services

SEI is seeking to build and expand its legal support of the Investment Manager Services Unit and seeks a proven Mutual Funds Attorney. As a member of the Corporate Legal team the Mutual Fund Attorney will become intimately involved with SEI's business activities in order to become a valued contributor and legal adviser.
What you'll do:
' You'll support the market unit's fund administration, fund accounting and distribution business, including with respect to a large, multi-manager mutual fund series trust sponsored by SEI.
' You'll be responsible for a wide variety of regulatory and compliance matters under the Investment Company Act of 1940, including drafting and reviewing new fund registration statements, annual updates and proxy solicitation materials, preparing documentation in connection with investment company reorganizations and other business transactions, and negotiating service agreements.
' You will have direct contact with external clients in reference to legal and regulatory matters and will handle a wide range of mutual fund general corporate and governance matters.
' You'll also work closely with the legal services managers and client relationship team assigned to the funds. The attorney's responsibilities will also include product/program support, board management, regulatory guidance, general corporate work, and participation in sales and other presentations.
' You'll report to the general counsel of this market unit.
Position Requirements
What you bring to the table:
' J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to Bar.
' Experience practicing as an attorney at a law firm, company or government agency handling legal and regulatory issues relating to investment products.
' Expertise with respect to the Investment Company Act of 1940 and Investment Advisers Act of 1940.
' Ability to work independently to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
