Specialist, Centralized Operations

This Specialist role requires a self-motivated, goal-oriented individual to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive delivery schedule. The Investment Operations Specialist's prime responsibility will be the development and oversight of automated processing of client trade data into IMS accounting systems. This highly visible role includes participation in client onboarding, and ongoing support of daily trade capture activity. This is a non-technical role; however the ideal candidate should possess or be willing to attain a strong understanding of both business requirements and principles related to data management.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
Ensuring all established trade processing procedures and controls are completed accurately and timely on a daily basis.
Work with external clients and internal management to coordinate and facilitate an efficient, standardized data exchange.
Researching and resolving client issues, and receive training in the 'client experience'
Adhering to the client specific SLAs, as outlined
Assisting with client implementations when necessary
Participating in team projects

BA/BS degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or business related field; or the equivalent in education and work experience is preferred
Minimum 2 years financial services Industry experience required
Specific expertise in Geneva (or other FAS systems) pertaining to Transactions, Reference Data, and Asset Master. Experience with Sungard InvestOne accounting systems a plus
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Excellent Interpersonal and communications skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
Visual Basic experience a plus, specifically VBA and VB Script
SQL experience, or familiarity with databases and relational concepts a strong plus
Familiarity with ETL principles a strong plus
Must be willing to work effectively independently, as well as in a team, in an open floor environment
Willing to work a flexible schedule
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
