The Private Equity Manager in the alternative investment fund department is responsible for the successful and accurate completion of the accounting, administrative and investor servicing requirements for various alternative products and structures for assigned funds. This individual must also strictly adhere to established departmental policies and procedures required to service alternative funds.
The responsibilities for this position may include some or all of the following:
Serve as main client operational contact for a range of clients
Maintain a good working relationship with external clients, audit firms, vendors, internal relationship managers and other internal departments.
Weekly and monthly review and sign off of cash, currency, position and investor capital reconciliations
Train and manage staff accountants and supervisors on systems, processing, procedures and job responsibilities
Utilize and interpret the legal documentation for private equity funds as it applies to maintaining partner capital accounts; including the allocation of capital activity, income, multiple closings, management fee and carried interest calculations, etc.
Review performance measures on partner, partnership basis, and partnership-portfolio basis for reporting purposes
Review closing interest, management fee and carried interest calculations
Review and approve quarterly valuation prior to distribution to client with 100% accuracy
Review of monthly revenue package for assigned funds
Responsible for accuracy of year end financials and facilitate in the audit process
Resolve problems and errors on a timely basis (with documentation)
Support department leader/director with continuous improvement initiatives and ongoing establishment and maintenance of procedures as needed
Assess new business and hiring needs
Stay abreast of current industry developments
Idea generation and ongoing assessment and improvement of operational service model
Coordinate human resource functions including hiring and periodic employee performance appraisals
Position Requirements
BS/BA degree in business, finance or related field, or the equivalent in education and work experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in financial services operations. Hedge fund/Private Equity experience a plus
Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience
Strong knowledge of trade processing and accounting for equities, fixed income and derivative instruments
Strong problem solving skills

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge and expertise of the Sungard Invest1 system desired
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside. The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
